You can upload your lab results to the Sectormentor web app as either a PDF, Excel or CSV file, so you can keep all of your soil, sap & petiole information stored in Sectormentor!

Follow these instructions to use the Lab results feature while logged into the web app:

  1. Go to the Lab Results & Attachments in the menu bar, click Add in the top right corner, and select the relevant option.
  2. On the next page, choose a sample that your lab results were recorded at, and attach the lab result file from your computer, as well as any relevant notes for context. Click ‘Save’.
  3. Your lab results will now show up in the Lab results area in the menu bar, so you can view the files you have uploaded and the notes you’ve added in one place!

For soil, sap, petiole and more lab results, you can now extract the data from your uploaded file automatically using the Lab Results Extraction feature, as below.

Lab Results Extractor 🔬

The automated Lab Results Extraction feature allows you to upload a PDF of lab results to Sectormentor, and to extract the results from the PDF automatically, saving time & allowing you to use Sectormentor to track your individual results over time!

This feature is able to extract soil, petiole and sap lab results. If you’d like to extract different types of lab results, email us on [email protected] and we can add them for you.

It is important to remember that although in most cases this feature is able to find and extract your results perfectly, it is not always 100% accurate, so it’s very important to double check & cross reference the pdf you have uploaded with the results presented in Sectormentor!

🪄 How to automatically extract lab results

  1. While logged into the Sectormentor web app, add your results to Sectormentor using the instructions listed above. ℹ️ N.B. If your lab result pdf has multiple sets of results relating to multiple samples in the vineyard, just choose one of the relevant samples at this first stage. You will be able to specify which set of results should be added to which sample on the next page!
  2. Once the file has been uploaded, and you’re back on the Lab Results page, click the Extract data button to begin the automatic data extraction into Sectormentor. Please note that only PDF file types can be uploaded.
  3. On the next page, double check each of the values that have been extracted with your original pdf. If you don’t have a printed version of the pdf available, we find this is easiest to do in a split screen on your computer, by pulling the pdf up on one half of the screen, and keeping Sectormentor open in the other half, so you can quickly check back and forth!
  4. Click Save, and the extracted results will be added to Sectormentor!
